A Standout IWB Holster for the S&W J-Frame
I’ve carried and tested countless holsters over the years, like many who carry daily, I’ve got boxes and drawers full of options collected in the search for the “perfect” one. The Four Bros New Smith & Wesson J-Frame IWB Holster is one of the rare holsters that truly rises above the rest.
I tested this holster with four different J-frames 442, 638, and two separate 632 models and it performed flawlessly with each. The fit was consistent, retention was secure without being overly tight, and the draw was smooth and predictable across all four revolvers.
Comfort is where this holster really shines. The slim profile, rounded edges, and smart ride height make it extremely comfortable for all-day carry. No sharp spots, no shifting, no irritation, just a stable and reliable setup whether I’m seated, walking, or active.
Build quality is excellent. The molding is precise, the clip is strong and dependable, and the overall construction feels solid and well thought out. This is a holster built for real-world use, not just another addition to the “holster graveyard.”
Concealment has been consistently impressive. The holster pulls the revolver close to the body, minimizing printing and maintaining a clean profile.
Bottom line: After carrying multiple J-frames in this holster, I can confidently say it’s one of the best IWB options available for the platform. Thoughtfully designed, comfortable, durable, and highly effective, this holster has definitely earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

Excellent fit and finish, and very impressed with the UltiClip (first holster with one). Highly recommend it for this pistol; fully loaded with the holster the whole setup is just 19oz! I can appendix carry this with joggers and it’s completely secure. It just disappears like it’s not even there

I love the topography design and color. I hope one day they make one with fde topo lines on a green base.

Great retention and phenomenal build quality all-around. This is the only company I know of that makes a holster for my hellcat pro with a manual safety and a 1913 TLR 7 Sub, and I’m so glad I found them instead of buying from another company and making modifications myself. They’ve acquired a new loyal customer because of this.

Well built holster made from good materials. The left side slide lock lever on my M&P metal carry comp sticks out pretty far and it drags on the inside of the holster making it very hard to draw the gun, so I used a dremel to open up the factory channel in the holster allowing more room for the slide lock. Now I can draw the gun better after setting the tension on the screws on the holster.

Love the holster it’s a great fit and positive retention.

Originally got this for my G19 but ended up carrying my G17 for EDC. I work at a range and Gunshop yet still shock those who ask what holster + gun setup I use due to how concealable and comfortable this holster is. So far, it’s also held up very well too.

Concealment: It’ll still print a little on me with just t-shirt and shorts, but it’s not noticeable to those even carrying firearms. Undetectable with a hoodie or jacket.

Comfort: I can wear the holster all day at work without issues. Driving, going hiking or lifting ammo boxes isn’t an issue with the holster + G17. It’s still noticeable that it’s there, but it’s not in the way or inducing pain/long lasting discomfort.

Draw: if adjusted correctly, the draw is still quick and easy without compromising concealment or comfort. Trial and error is needed for proper attunement so have some patience.

Cons: Holster doesn’t have a strong or positive “lock in” like most kydex holsters. However, I can still shake the holster upside down with a loaded G17 (and Tlr-1-hl-X of course) and it does not fall out. More so a nitpick.

Overall very happy with the holster so far as it does everything I need it to do!

Holster quality is great so I have to give it 5 stars. I do however have one complaint ( this could also be a wrong holster choice ). It doesn't match the shorter 3.1 slide.
